one day taster workshops

The Flourish Jewellery Project offers a wide range of taster jewellery making workshops to enable you to discover your hidden talents in jewellery design. Taught by one of our team of professional jewellers, these taster workshops enable you to experience and make a piece of unique silver jewellery. Using traditional silversmithing techniques you will learn how to shape, forge, bend, hammer, and solder so that you can create and make a silver spinner ring, a bangle, a pair of earrings, or even make your own wedding rings.

All profit from these workshops goes directly back into the Flourish Jewellery project enabling individuals and underrepresented communities to continue to access jewellery design education, training and discovering their creativity through making jewellery.

All our workshops are suitable for people aged 15+ and priced per person.

All our taster workshop takes place at SilverHub Jewellery School, 40 Ferry Road Edinburgh EH64AE

Maximum number of people is 6.

Make a Silver Bangle

Using recycled silver this taster workshop will introduce you to traditional jewellery making techniques. You will learn how to measure, form, create textures, solder, sand and polish and take away with you 3 beautiful and unique silver bangles.

Make a Spinner Ring!

This taster workshop will introduce you to traditional jewellery making techniques. You will learn how to texture, form and solder silver enabling you to leave with a beautiful silver spinner ring.

Cabochon Ring

Using traditional silversmithing techniques this short taster will introduce you to ring making and bezel setting. At the end of this workshop you will have created a silver ring with a round set cabochon stone adding a bit of sparkle to your hand!

Make a set of three stacking fashion rings

By using three recycled silver wires you will learn to twisting, forming and hammer the recycled silver metal creating 3 beautiful and fashionable stacking rings.

Dot and Dash Earrings

Using recycled silver this taster workshop will introduce you to traditional jewellery making techniques. you will learn how to solder, texture, pierce and form silver, enabling you to leave with a beautiful set of silver studs and a pair of domed earrings. At the end of this taster workshop, you will have two pairs of stylish earrings created by you.
